The Boosters exist to support the Sunlake High School Band, its students and its director, through fundraising and volunteer activities. 

SLHSBB is an approved 501(c)3 organization, and donations made to the organization are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

The Difference Between

PRACTICE & REHEARSAL

 

PRACTICE is what you do on your own.

REHEARSAL is what you do with the rest of the band or ensemble.

 

You need to PRACTICE before you REHEARSE.

 

PRACTICE your fundamentals and your parts…then you will be ready to REHEARSE with the other performers!

Be On Time

Students are evaluated on punctuality and preparedness.

 

Some or all of these may be announced for events:

Call Time = arrival time (in the band room by this time)

Start Time = rehearsal begins (students prepared and in place).

End time = rehearsal is scheduled to end – this is NOT pick-up time.

Pick-up time = IDEALLY**, students will be outside the door, ready for pick up.

**NOTE:  Before dismissal, all students are expected to ensure that the field, band room, buses, etc. are clean, and all instruments and equipment are put away.  If these details are not promptly attended to, pick-up time for all students may be delayed.   Also, in the case of ‘away’ events, pick-up times are only estimates.  It is highly recommended that students be in telephone contact with parents and also have backup transportation arrangements made in advance.
